A note in memorial that folx whose death certificates say accidental overdose have an incomplete cause of death--the root cause is lack of compassion, unwillingness to embrace harm reduction, stigma around use, shame & isolation due to criminalization, & bad laws. #Reform2019

A note that @DrugPolicyOrg #Reform2019 is rooted in compassion. And that through compassion in our work, and through the lens of compassion, we can move beyond the excuse of stigma towards ambitious and urgent change.

For @DrugPolicyOrg that is rooted in 3 big goals 1) expose harms of the drug war such as financial aid barriers, housing discrimination, immigration barriers, and incarceration--at every intersection of identity in and beyond the US. #Reform2019

Goals include building alternatives to punishment. A note that possession is the #1 reason for arrest in this country, & that we need science based drug education & real access to a full range of treatment, & pressing forward to find answers to the tough questions #Reform2019
