Definitely an interesting concept for sure! Seems like he wanted to better explain Midi-Chlorians and tie it into the spirituality a lot of people felt they undermined.

Hmm. I was gonna say it must be an older quote, referring to "midichlorians" as "Whills," but he references TPM backlash, so we know "midichlorians" were canon. That means "Whills" are separate from "midichlorians..." and could possibly keep journals?

I'm always put-off by how people were "put-off:" -- seems to me, anything we once saw as a miracle will eventually be explained by science. Doesn't undermine what it meant at the time, or how valuable it remains.https://twitter.com/LivioRamondelli/status/1006386920383868928 …

The coulda is almost always more interesting than the is. While the new Disney movies seem to be very, very divisive (loved R1, loathed everything else) the prequels show that without someone to rein Lucas he could get out of control
-
Also important to note that the prequels were only directed by George because all of the people he trusted to ask to direct them were unavailable at the time.
