Today, I joined 26 local elected officials in a letter to asking that funding be redirected to community-based alternatives.
We are specifically asking to end the damage caused by 's overreaction to peaceful protests.

Thank you Lisa, but we don’t want new tactics or rules. We want something new, based on our actual needs. Seattle police have shown us they can’t be trusted. New guidelines won’t keep people of color safe from violent police. You can’t change a tigers stripes.

This lacks specifics. The budget is known, demand specifics. The chemical weapons and police spending on “riot” gear and tactical equipment is known, demand specifics. Send a clear strong message about what it means to direct funding to community alternatives.
