When someone like @billmaher says he’s “not antivaccine,” I want to ask him: When a climate science denier claims he’s not denying that human-induced climate change is real, do you take that denial at face value? Or when a creationist say he’s not denying evolution?
Yes, we are. We need vaccines for serious diseases but not mild infections. How on earth did all of us in our mid-50s and over survive with only six vaccines while children today receive 16+ vaccines? Children are not healthier having more vaccines.

And there are more vaccines in the pipeline for infections you didn't even think to worry about.
-
Health risk isn't determined by what people "think to worry about". What are these vaccines you claim are "in the pipeline"?

The others died, Lisa. Enjoy your shingles.

You are aware that people are living longer than ever (unfortunately, in many cases) ... how hard is it on people your parents' age to have the flu? Our ours? How many avoid death others had the flu vaccine. Or, HPV? Superfluous, too? I'm sure many women'd rather get cancer.

"All of us" didn't survive Lisa. Your argument very conveniently ignores all the people who died of diseases we now vaccinate for. Y'know, the *relevant to the argument* ones.

What are these "mild infections" you speak of? And nobody is suggesting that vaccines make children healthier beyond protecting them against disease. Are you claiming that unvaccinated children are healthier?

Those aren't minor infections. They sickened and killed people before there were vaccines for them. An ER doctor pointed out to me that people aren't aware of what it was like when she had to cradle a dying infant because of one of those minor infections.

I’m researching my family tree at the moment. Before around 1930-1940, almost every family had 2 or 3 infant deaths. One family in the 1880s had 1 set of triplets and 3 sets of twins. Only one from each set lived to see their 5th birthday.

What is a mild infection? The flu? No laws on that and the flu kills lots of kids. Hepatitis? I’m pretty sure the people in their +50’s that have hepatitis wish they didn’t and could have had a vaccine for it. HPV? That protects against CANCER!
Go read a science book. -
Cervical and head & neck cancers are not mild infections. I have friends that would have benefited from HPV vaccines. Meningitis is not mild either. Glad my kids can be protected. I assume you mean chickenpox? Have your friends gotten shingles yet? It’s debilitating. Vaccinate.
