Information on the internet stokes parent-child conflict -- which of course is normal for teens. But kids are being encouraged not to trust their parents -- even though most parents are supportive of their kids but want to slow down and think before undertaking permanent steps. 2

The way the parent-child relationships are eroded and damaged by the narratives that go along with affirmative care is tragic and enraging. The bond between a parent and a child is one of life's great gifts. It's not always easy, and it isn't always perfect. 3

But no one -- not a therapist, or a state, or a stranger on the internet -- should be in the business of trying to convince of a vulnerable young person to estrange herself from loving parents without very good cause. And that's what some transgender activism does. 4

But luckily, mother-daughter bonds are hard to break. I know of more and more moms who are getting their daughters back. These parents are heroic. They fought for their children, even though they have been vilified for doing so. And for some, it has paid off. 5

"Out of the blue" is code for "the parent was unaware of what their child was feeling & thinking". Be it through lack of attention paid or the child hiding it well. But transition is never sudden for the individual transitioning, they often think on the matter for years. I wish

you & others would stop trying to delegitimise trans folks, including kids, due to *your* prior lack of awareness. It's not sudden, it's just sometimes news to the parents. It's not a "contagion" it's just life.

You’ve spoken with hundreds of parents? Where? Online? In person? This sounds exaggerated at best, and a full lie at most likely. You aren’t helping yourself spreading this misinformation. But you are putting one of the most vulnerable groups in even more danger

I was one of those parents who reached out to
@LisaMarchiano via email. And I have no doubt I was the only one. If anyone is lying, it's people like you who feel the need to lie to themselves about physical/biological reality. - Show replies
