This is a qualifier mate, the national bit was like a pre-qualifier... The best players from EU will still make the event. You're unlucky that Poland is strong but doesn't mean the format is wrong.
12 players go to China, not 1. One has to include a "some of" before "the best players" or it is like saying $100 and $80 is the same because they're both greater than $50. The 12 players going to China will be good no doubt, but relative to potential, the format has degradation.

I think having Finland and Norway fight for one spot was an oversight, I didn't know about that.. seems crazy when Poland gets two but you guys had to fight for one spot.

Yeah all a byproduct of the system and a risk thing, it is bound to happen with strict micro-regions throughout all games. The severity is down to luck. But it's there for a reason hopefully, and sure painful for individuals. But sacrifice in precision hopefully has purpose
