To those who supported sequestration – you have done a lot of damage to our men and women in uniform. You should want to fix it and I’ll work with anyone and everyone to get a result which benefits our troops.

Americans in uniform are serving overseas in conditions – jungles, deserts, mountains, and more – that we cannot begin to imagine in Washington. All the while Congress acts like children urging all to rally around partisan flags and not the American flag which they serve.

We need additional funding for our military – which is desperately in need of an infusion. We also need some direction about the path forward for 800,000 DACA recipients who know no home other than the United States.

My focus is not on pleasing a bunch of partisans. My focus is on delivering for soldiers in the field and fixing problems which face our nation – like the impending upheaval to the lives of 800,000 DACA recipients. People in SC and across the nation deserve nothing less.

What is this obsession with pouring all of our money into the military? Are Republicans using it as a slush fund? We've never dumped as much $ into it as we have over the last two decades, and it's still not enough? How can this be possible, unless someone is stealing our $?

And it's not like we're spending the money on paying our troops a decent wage. We're not taking care of our vets. Where's the money going? We need to audit the Pentagon. Republicans claim to be against government waste, but they refuse to audit the Pentagon. Why is that?

If leadership wont take the steps to practice its equal authority in governing, I say you and other real Republicans switch parties as McConnell and Ryan refuse to bring actual bipartisan measure to a vote.

What they desperately need is a new Commander-in-Chief! Preferably one that wasn't bought and paid for by a foreign adversary, if that's not too much to ask.

Senator, all in favor of supporting the military; being said, I can't help but remember the report the Pentagon buried about $125 Billion in wasted spending over 5 years.
-
Even in the waste in government, that's not just a rounding error. For comparison, NASA budget is less than $20 Billion a year, CHiP is less than $1 Billion, CDC is @ $7 Billion...just something to consider.
