While I support child tax credits I do not support the idea of using general revenue to pay for an individual’s Social Security contribution.

Social Security has never been a welfare program and I don’t want it to become one. Using general revenue dollars to pay someone’s Social Security contribution is bad policy.

I don't understand this comment. A person's SS contribution is what they earn from their employer which is then deducted from pay check and sent to SSA for their savings account. What do you mean by general revenue? The employer's?

Graham is practicing deception. Soc Sec does NOT borrow from Gen Fund. The Gen Fund borrowed from S.S. and owes it BOATLOADS

Hi there, if you opt to cut Medicare, SS and Medicaid, I expect a full refund. With interest, on every penny, taken out of every check since I started working at 11 delivering newspapers. Those deductions from my pay, coupled with state/federal taxes, represent govt. theft

Since GOP does not care about my opinion, and sees my paycheck as theirs, I say to you no taxation without representation. If you do not refund the money taken from my checks, I won't pay taxes anymore. Furthermore, I will use social media to discuss a tax boycott w/others.

I read that Bush administration *borrowed* 1.5 trillion from SS trust fund. Has our money been paid back? Maybe think about returning that instead of tax cuts to the rich!

Reagan first authorized the government to "borrow" from the SS trust fund. None of it has been paid back, much less with interest.

No. All federal government expenditures are "funded" exactly the same way. Congressional appropriation and authorization. The U.S. Government can NEVER be forced to "run out" of USD or miss a payment due in USD. NEVER.

They haven't paid back the money "borrowed" from social security. It wasn't going broke the R just kept taking from it to balance the budget and wars. Now I'm 61 and in March can take on mine and damn right I'll take it early so I can get some of what I put in.

So as far as I see it if money was taken out I paid in.
