Congress did not ban online poker in 2006. Rather, they passed an enforcement measure against types of online gaming unlawful under other laws. Nor did Congress ban online poker in 1961 with the Wire Act. That was interstate sport-betting via wire only.
Please Support Regulated Online Poker in the United States! Please Oppose all Federal & State Poker Ban Legislation. @LindseyGrahamSC & @SenFeinstein are Wrong on This Issue. Prohibition is NOT the Answer. We Need Meaningful Federal & State Regulation of Online Poker!!!
Please support online poker
Please withdraw your letter to the DOJ asking for a federal ban of online poker. Legislation for a federal ban has been unsuccessful for years, and this is really a states' decision.
Please rethink your stance on o line poker regulation and withdrawal your letter to the DOJ. Players need the consumer protections that regulation brings. A federal ban would only strengthen offshore black market sites.
Please respect the rights of states by withdrawing your support to ban state-licensed online poker sites. Thank you. #TenthAmendment

(1) In your letter on iPoker/gambling you speak of the FBI saying that criminal activity will take place, that children will access the legal US based sites, it hasn't happened! Please study the NV,NJ,DE & now PA have strong consumer protections to stop these from happening.
(2) This is a study by UNLV & Michelle Minton from The Competitive Enterprise Institute on the original intent of The Wire Act of 1961. This will help you to understand that The Wire Act has nothing to do with the Internet...http://gaming.unlv.edu/papers/cgr_op29_minton.pdf …
