The good news is the American homeland can be protected from ISIS and al Qaeda threats emanating from Afghanistan with a relatively small U.S. counterterrorism force. If President Obama had left a residual U.S. counterterrorism force in Iraq, there would not have been an ISIS.

Sir, I think you have forgotten that it was the Iraqi government in 2011 that would not sign the Status of Forces Agreement that the Pentagon needed, to sustain such a presence in Iraq.

Call this what you will but the kindest description is more gaslighting. You mean if G.W. Bush hadn't signed an agreement to remove our forces, don't you? Because that's what really happened. President Obama was following the agreement put in place by the prior administration.
