El Paso shooting is sick and senseless.
Time to do more than pray. Time to enact common-sense legislation in Congress to empower states to deal with those who present a danger to themselves and others — while respecting robust due process.

Maybe when (god forbid) there is a mass shooting in congress, they'll do something. It seems to be a well established pattern that nothing gets done until it affects them personally.

Time to outlaw assault weapons and high power magazines. Other countries with mentally ill people do not have the same rates of mass shootings.
