Very interested to see what kind of deal is made with the Taliban in Afghanistan. One thing I know for certain — al-Qaeda and ISIS will never be at the negotiating table.https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/national-security/us-preparing-to-withdraw-thousands-of-troops-from-afghanistan-in-initial-deal-with-taliban/2019/08/01/01e97126-b3ac-11e9-8f6c-7828e68cb15f_story.html?utm_term=.f80a6ed58150 …

The Taliban gave safe haven to Bin Laden and al-Qaeda. Afghanistan is where the 9/11 attacks were planned. ISIS/al-Qaeda presence in Afghanistan (ISIS-K) has been growing as we increase the pressure in Syria and Iraq. ISIS-K can be very lethal to the American homeland.

I hope any agreement will be a good deal for America that protects our homeland, our allies, and our interests. It is one thing to end the war with honor and security. It is another to simply hope it goes away.

It was the Saudis who caused 9/11. We are selling Saudis armaments. What could possibly go wrong? Q- when you sold your soul do you get a lump sum or do the payments come in monthly, weekly or biannually?

"Fight them there so we won't have to fight them here" was an empty phrase and a worthless strategy almost two decades back, and it remains so. And it is foolhardy to expect leadership from Donald Trump, who summons all his tactics from privilege and the disgraced Roy Cohn.
