Nonsense. Reagan didn’t end the Soviet Union, their flawed structure did. Reagan was in the right place at the right time - and if Democrats had held onto power they would claim that victory.

Disagree: Reagan’s rejection of detente & his renewed commitment to aggressive containment - even rollback - forced Gorbachev’s hand as he tried to reform the Soviet Union/Party in order to save them. Their flaws were laid bare by Reagan’s (& Thatcher’s) calling the question.
