I look forward to hearing his explanation -- in South Carolina -- why Dylan Roof should be allowed to vote in the upcoming elections.

Ha ha. Graham trying to claim the moral high ground. The Republicans are overflowing with criminals including the President
-
So to be clear. You're okay with letting the Boston bomber vote?
-
Yes. I don't think the bombers will care much about voting, but it's a constitutional right.
-
Are you kidding me? What about the families of the victims that were killed? Do you think they want him to have the same rights that we have for following the law? You want a terrorist to have a say in our future? our children's future? Absolutely not.
-
Reminder: the Constitution that we all hold so near and dear to our hearts states that "[t]he right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any state on account of […] previous condition of servitude." It's their right.
-
Thanks Trevor- Another reminder... Fourteenth Amendment, specifically delegates to the states the right to determine the qualifications of voters and to disqualify anyone who participates “in rebellion, or other crime.”
-
Except note that the amendments "amend" what is already written, which includes previous amendments. Think how the 26th overrules the 14th (among other sections) by making voting age 18 rather than 21. Or how 21st undid 18th. In much the same way, an amendment requiring [1/2]
-
[2/2] unabridged voting rights would overrule a previous part of the Constitution that would state otherwise, in your example the 14th. This is why we have the amendment process.

Your party supports gerrymandering and voter suppression. How about condemning that too?
-
The only voters that need suppressing are the one that cannot LEGALLY vote & they almost always vote Democrat! Imagine that? It's amazing how many dead people vote Democrat. Could that be because Democrats believe ANYTHING that they do is morally acceptable, results of amoral?
-
proof?
-
They don’t have any. Just baseless claims like usual. Always crying about Voter Fraud, but they wouldn’t dare discuss the actual voter fraud that happened in North Carolina.
-
I'm happy to discuss voter fraud anywhere by anyone because fraud is fraud regardless of who commits it it's not just wrong it's a crime! I'm not close minded like some people.
-
Okay, let's talk. The Republican party committed election fraud in the state of North Carolina in the 2018 midterm election. You're dead silent on that, while claiming, with no sources, that people who cannot legally vote "almost always vote Democrat".
-
According to what I read it is "suspected" that a campaign consultant "may have" illegally submitted absentee ballots. They need to find out for sure & if it did happen they should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law! As I said absentee ballots are the weakness.
-
"May have" is an understatement. He's been indicted on three counts of obstruction of justice, two counts of conspiracy to commit obstruction of justice, and two counts of possessing an absentee ballot in violation of state law. https://www.vox.com/policy-and-politics/2019/2/18/18229711/north-carolina-election-fraud-leslie-mcrae-dowless-indictment … 1/2

Maybe I don’t see the big picture but does Bernie really think that this is an issue to everyday Americans? Why on earth would he go out there and promote something so stupid instead of the economy, jobs, healthcare, etc? It’s a waste of time to even pay attention to it.
-
All prisoners vote in Bernie's home state of Vermont as well as Maine & he's promoted more American citizens being allowed to vote for yrs. It was a matter of time before he advocated for all prisoners being allowed to vote on a national level. It's the Democratic thing to do.
-
You made this sound negative. Besides, voting is basically the building block of society
-
Criminals in prison are not part of society until they have paid their debt to society and are release back into society. Protecting the society from criminals is literally what prison is for.
-
But the point is is that some states consider people who are released from prison as though they are still prisoners, and shun them from participate from the voting process
