I recommend she take a tour of the Holocaust Museum in DC. Might help her better understand the differences between the Holocaust and the caravan in Tijuana.

Asking to be considered a refugee & applying for status isn’t a crime. It wasn’t for Jewish families fleeing Germany. It wasn’t for targeted families fleeing Rwanda. It wasn’t for communities fleeing war-torn Syria. And it isn’t for those fleeing violence in Central America. twitter.com/NBCNews/status…

Bro. Just stop. Requesting asylum is legal, and you have to be on U.S. soil to do so. You might want to visit the Holocaust Museum yourself. Maybe go visit Central America or the people waiting to, again, legally request asylum at our border.

Are you aware that one can draw similarities without drawing an equivalence? The way you, your party, and this president speak about these people is despicable, much like the fact that so many Americans turned their backs on Jewish refugees fleeing war and violence.

I recommend you remember the 1939 voyage of the MS St. Louis, which carried over 900 Jewish refugees. They were denied entry to the U.S. due to xenophobia and obsession with nationalistic borders. A quarter of them died after being tortured in death camps.

Had my Jewish family been denied immigration to Canada after fleeing from Eastern Europe prior to the Holocaust, they would almost certainly have been killed during the purges. A whole family, brutally wiped out, as countless others were.
