Great insights from former Harper COS Ian Brodie on what really happens inside PMO when sensitive intelligence information is brought forward. Round table conversation fascinating too: what explains Trudeau gov operating against Canada’s national interest?

Senator says RCMP must release evidence of alleged Chinese police stations in Canada a.msn.com/01/en-ca/AA1aN by this logic why not ask csis to release active files on a number of Canadian politicians that are close to alleged station operators?

It looks an awful lot like China bet big that Canada's Liberal govt is either completely incompetent or, worse, cynically willing to look the other way on interference--even harassment of family members. And that, so far, it's paid off.

Absolutely this! Where is the leadership in Canada today? Government is more than just an ATM for the governing party’s pet projects. Leadership is more than just PR & spin. 🙉🙈🙊

Quite right. You wouldn’t want to expel a diplomat over a little thing like threatening an MP’s family because he voted in a way China didn’t like. Or interfering in nomination races. Or intimidating Chinese-Canadian citizens. Or running disinfo ops against Tory MPs. Or…

Canada’s voice of moral clarity. A must listen. Chong speaking about the Trudeau government’s unwillingness to act — or even to care — about the PRC’s campaigns of intimidation against Canadians. We need Michael Chong as our Foreign Minister and we need him now!

Yesterday it was CSIS’s fault, today it’s the national security advisor’s fault. Just as long as everyone is clear it’s absolutely NOT the PM’s fault for not having a clue what’s going on in his government.

Questions, then: 1. If true, why did both Mendicino and Trudeau dodge that very question in the House? 2. If true, why is Vigneault still CSIS Director? 3. Why is Zhao Wei not on a plane back to PRC today?

This is a resignation issue. If Vigneault was aware that MSS had an operation to intimidate an MP but failed to inform the PM and the MP, he cannot continue. If Thomas was informed, but failed to brief the PM, she must resign. If Trudeau knew and failed to act, he must resign.

The lack of leadership from the Trudeau government in combating foreign interference in Canada has emboldened regimes like China to continue their intimidation here and around the world. Why does the Trudeau government continue to refuse to take action?

Credit where due. Let's have some more backbenchers muster the courage to speak plainly in Canada's interest, not Trudeau's. I think this makes two.

Would you look at that. On the Liberal Party of Canada’s website, they don’t make the distinction that the CBC is publicly funded. Truth is, they also don’t say it’s government funded. No, no, it’s worse. The Liberals actually claim that the CBC is TRUDEAU FUNDED!

Vladimir Kara-Murza is one of the most courageous people I ever met. He spoke out for freedom in Russia. They poisoned him and he almost died—twice. He kept speaking out. They took him away April 11, 2022. Now they jail him for treason. The free world must stand with Vladimir. /2
