is housing and feeding murderers for the rest of their life fiscally responsible?

It’s actually less expensive than execution...and historically, a number of people on death row have been proven innocent, particularly in places where the justice system is crooked...case in point, Alabama

Well I disagree with you here murder should be outlawed. At least in the US we have due process and a jury of our peers which separates penalty from government. What’s your big solution. Victims can act on their own to take justice? Indefinite Gulag? Eliminate felony murder rule?

The death penalty 100% stops recidivism. Where as locking them up for life does not. There are plenty of murders in prison.

By your reasoning, arresting people is kidnapping taxing people is theft...life in prison is torture. Next thing you get is Willie Horton. Getting a weekend furlough & parole. 1970s soft on crime was a failure. Killers will escape. Murder in prison. Kill witnesses.

We are made in God’s image & God kills both guilty & innocent! I think God will forgive us if we scapegoat the worst killers among us. The law is the teacher. They know murder is wrong. They know it’s a crime. Don’t chicken out on punishment. Why would you?

Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God's wrath, for it is written: "It is mine to avenge; I will repay," says the Lord. - Romans 12:19
