Conversation

Appreciate you so much, . All the criticisms are valid. The sheer tonnage of complexities & failings of these people I couldn’t get. Or wrestled with but cut. I took 6 years and fit as much as I could in a 2.5 hour musical. Did my best. It’s all fair game.

im late w the hamilton criticism stuff & im clearly biased but.. i really like that this conversation is happening. hamilton the play and the movie were given to us in two different worlds & our willingness to interrogate things in this way feels like a clear sign of change

I’ve only watched it 24 times in three days, and seen the show four times in person, so may be biased, but you did a damn fine job taking the book and reimagining it for the stage. I learned more in 2 hours and forty minutes than in years of history classes on the same subjects.

don't engage these trolls Lin. Hamilton is the greatest show ever. you should be proud of your work, not feeding these pigeons.
Discussions are important. Art is important. We can't have all our things in perfect context or perspective all the time, but both this conversation of context and the musical are crucial, beautiful and lend layers and dimensions to our understanding. Thank you both for this. ❤️
You owe no one any apologies for anything. You created one of the most amazing, impressive, astounding musicals of all time. Sadly, these protesters don't care about the facts, the history, or you. They only see something to destroy. Be Hamilton, not Burr. Fan Always, Matt

“Don’t forget from whence you came...” Seems there are too many who forget the innovators that got them invited to the dance in the first place... witnessing the change in five years, imagine judging people from over 200 years ago.
Dude. You wrote HAMILTON! Your critics write nothing but knit-picking tweets on how you should subordinate your art to their political agendas. Ignore them.
