i've not been minded to post any photo's for almost a month, but i've not entirely disappeared, even if my health took a backward step or 2, & i've barely left the flat for 3 or so weeks.. so yeah, just some more old photo's, not sure when i'll post any new ones...

On 27 January 2020, it will be 75 years since the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau. I post my series as a reminder that every single child of the Holocaust stands just behind us, radiance filled, waiting, aching for us to turn, at last, to embrance them. @AuschwitzMemorial

I entitled this series 'The Light Behind Us'. Each portrait manifests the perpetual power of the face to whisper, murmur, to tell us parts of stories without which our lives would be incomplete, and we would become defined by forgetfulness. @AuschwitzMemorial

I felt the need to get as physically close as possible to them, aching for the smoothness of youth not to be subsumed by pixelation, thinking also how the enlargement process, even this particular mutation, did nothing to lessen the power of their expressions. @AuschwitzMemorial

By the time my lens discovered these children, I was confronted with over-sized unframed images attached to every surface - from curved ceiling to floor - of a small, dimly lit, brick room of the now museum. @AuschwitzMemorial

This series comprise photographs of photographs of photographs, many times removed from the original. Each time another version was made mutations occurred. Still, their life force remains, for me, astoundingly vibrant.

Mechelen is 24.1 km fr Brussels. Fr July 1942-September 1944, 5,430 children were deported from Dossin de St Georges Barracks - redesignated SS-Sammellager Mechelen - to Auschwitz. My photographs are personal interpretations many times removed. @AuschwitzMemorial

Just viewed a delicate, beautifully shot, affectionate short film portrait of Tunisian people, but before I could like it, it disappeared from Twitter. Did anyone else see it? Photographer? Thank you.

This is the first image, as I recall, that I used the ‘please tap to see full image’. I was afraid people might not see the full power of the image. 🤓
