It all depends on if those layers can be stacked and the figures are maintained. I'd really like to see third party data next time. After that: Can it be produced on a pilot line? After that: Can it be mass produced? LOOONG road ahead kiddos.

Still not competitive a) gel could be used in any other li-ion battery. There is none of the claimed safety advantage. And b) there are UV-cured quasi-solid-separators that are much more flexible and compatible with classic production schemes. c) silicon works and is good enough.

The numbers QS projected 5 years ago were groundbreaking. Now, the same numbers projected for 2025 are not that far off from what we can expect from Tesla. It might simply be good tech which took too long to mature.

Given that
$QS "solid" is not solid, I now question how "gel" is their gel? All we know for sure is that@quantumscapeco uses an organic polymer in an organic liquid. Depending on proportions, that could remain at roughly the same viscosity/properties of a liquid.#solidnotsolidThanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

Gali, Hyperchange - Apple-Toshiba EV battery LFP-LTO, 312 cells in series. Titanate anode for Apple project Titan. Heavy, expensive but otherwise great. Apple products expensive, we don't personally feel weight. Good interim for Apple, but not mainstream.
