People are talking about growing up watching anime on Crunchyroll, Funimation, and YouTube but I'm old enough to remember having to spend $40 for three episodes of a series on VHS

"You see, you don't actually own a digital game, it's just a license that let's you play it. The publisher can take that away at any time and revoke your access. They can't take away your physical games. That's why physical games are better: you actually own your physical games."
I love that since Robocop vs. Terminator was such a complicated license, the entire label had to be a solid block of legal text.
My favorite console of all time is the SEGA Dreamcast. I bought my Dreamcast on 9/9/99, and since then, I've managed to collect every game released for the system worldwide.
I think at this point we've turned down about 30 offers for Limited Run Games NFTs.
The answer will always be no. We didn't like digital "ownership" before the blockchain, and the blockchain doesn't suddenly make it any more appealing.
Before you ask: it's no longer possible to manufacture physical Wii U and 3DS games.
I recently completed my US PS1 collection, and I hadn't been able to share it yet. Here it is - every PS1 game released in the US (and a few EU and JP imports)!
Here's something about the Scott Pilgrim K.O. Edition we haven't mentioned yet that is actually pretty exciting:
The strategy guide inside? It's coming from Prima Games. Yeah, that's right - we're resurrecting one of the biggest strategy guide brands. Don't miss out on this!
Who is ready to hunt some dinosaurs? These things are deceptively heavy!

The Switch carts just landed from Japan! I've verified that the correct patch is on the cartridge. Off to final assembly they go.
Standard editions should start shipping to all of you sometime next week!
We have officially gone international. now has a (small) Tokyo office in Shibuya. Hopefully when the pandemic lets up in 2035, we can pick up our European expansion plans.
Wow, the Shantae and the Pirate's Curse Classic Edition GBC throwback box turned out incredible!! So excited to get these in fan's hands!
GIF
Holy shit, the metal Turok cartridges in the Classic Editions turned out so good. 🔥🔥🔥
It is awesome to have Shantae in-hand! Alongside , we developed the emulation engine that powers this. This represents the first of hopefully many Carbon Engine releases!
Our retail store is more official now. We're not opening until September, but they added us to the shopping center sign!
We got the keys for our Limited Run Games retail store today. We're gonna start renovations soon!
My best guess at when we'll open is September because we want to have a huge grand opening and I'm hoping it'll be safe by then.
The Bloodstained Classic Edition is here and it's a beauty. knocked this out of the park!
Happy 25th anniversary to the Nintendo 64! It's the console that inspired me to want to make games for a living. I had a "company" in elementary school where we sold VHS "strategy guides" of N64 games.
Last year, I managed to complete a full worldwide N64 collection.
Holding this release is very surreal. We spent five years chasing after this game and we never thought it would be possible, yet here we are!
This kid during Nickelodeon's Super Toy Run was living my dream. Look at all those NES games. 😱
Today we crossed 2,500,000 physical games sold over the last five years at .
I can sincerely say that back in 2015/2016, I never thought we'd reach this milestone. Thank you for all of your support over the years!
Don't sleep on Vitamin Connection. It's a Switch exclusive that was *built for the Switch*. It actually utilizes that infrared feature in the Joycon that I think only two other games bother to use. We funded this game after it lost its original publisher.Very happy to release it!
We have officially purchased our first retro game IP at Limited Run and it is as baffling as everything else I do. I am looking forward to remastering and re-releasing it.
We got our first two Xbox One test discs in the mail today (both are unannounced upcoming releases that people will be very excited about).
After seven years of trying to get on the platform, it's surreal to finally be holding a physical Xbox game we're publishing!
Shantae Gameboy Color carts have finally arrived. They are off to final assembly on Monday and will likely begin shipping the following week!
I did it! I have a complete US and PAL exclusive Sega Saturn set (only notable omission is a CIB BattleSport if anyone wants to trade or sell me one).
Sorry this isn't alphabetized. I don't have the time to devote to that yet!
The final Vita game to come off the line at Sony America arrived in our office today. We managed to get to 102 unique releases.
So yeah, the cat's out of the bag. Limited Run Games officially owns the rights to Plumbers Don't Wear Ties and a remaster is coming to several platforms. Everyone questioned my sanity for this along the way, haha.
This only applies to copies published by us, btw, so you won't find this coupon in the European or Asian releases.
This was a heck of a lot of work to figure out and pull off!

NEWS: Get a Free Pizza Hut Personal Pan Pizza With Purchase of the Physical Copy of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge (S/PS4/X1). Just like the one that was included with TMNT 2: The Arcade Game (NES).
First image of our new Sega CD/Saturn/PS1 longbox jewel cases. They're real!
No test shot of the tray piece yet (the black piece) but we should see that soon.
These are made in the US just like the originals and are exactly to spec. We didn't spare any expense on the molds.
I guess we now know Ice Cream Maker Guy on Bespin was about to get drunk on some expensive drinks
Six years ago today, we launched our first game ever and officially kicked off . It's been an extremely wild journey since then and I've gotten to work on games that I never could have dreamed of releasing.
Thank you to everyone that has supported us!
Protip for folks who never knew: the purple mark on Super Nintendo boxes means "Open me from this side". Same thing applies for our Iconoclasts CE - there are no locking tabs on the right side flap!

The replica of Red's ring in our Transistor CE is truly a beautiful piece.

I know a lot of people didn't know how to hold an N64 controller, but Ray Romano took it to the next level with two fingers on the joystick
With #E3Cancelled, I might as well spoil our biggest E3 announcement - we're partnering with Infinium Labs, Inc. to finally release their long awaited, hotly anticipated, and definitely real "Phantom" game console.
Today has been a good day - I was able to play several PS1 games on Switch through the Carbon Engine! This is going to open a ton of new options for future re-releases.
If I had full access to the PS1 library, what games would you want to see on the Switch?
The retail store is really starting to take shape.
It's hard for me to not get excited at this point. Owning a physical game store has been a dream of mine since I was a kid, so this is literally a dream come true.
My biggest 3DS regret - which I doubt I'll ever get over - is that I never managed to get in touch with Level-5 to propose an "Attack of the Friday Monsters" physical release.
I've officially completed my worldwide collection of Nintendo 64 releases! I have one of every unique game released in any territory, with preference on English releases first.
The Nintendo 64 is the console that set me on a path to working in video games. It came out when I was in third grade, and my friends and I started a "company" by making a VHS strategy guide to Mario 64.
It felt like a necessity to collect a complete set for it, so I did.

There was no bigger disappointment than dropping $40 on a series that looked cool only to find out it was a total dud or that you accidentally bought a later volume in a series and would inevitably have no idea what was happening.
Grandia HD has arrived in our warehouse!! I still can't believe we got to release this.
Welp, I just placed what may very well be our final PlayStation Vita order with Sony.
22 games - the vast majority of which we haven't announced yet. We'll be slowly releasing these throughout 2019 and then it's the end of the line for our beloved friend, the Vita.

Just one week until our physical release of the Castlevania Anniversary Collection goes live at limitedrungames.com!
If you send me death threats and expletive laden DMs when a game sells out, there's a 100% chance I'm not going to feel compelled to try and help you.
I am not sure what DMs like this are meant to accomplish.
Haven't mentioned this yet but was instrumental in helping us with our DOOM 64 Classic Edition. They recovered two pieces of high resolution game key art from old GamePro discs that we used for the posters.
I added two signed games to my display case today - autographed my copies of Jak 3 and The Last of Us!
This took a very long time to negotiate, but we managed to secure the necessary licenses to include the iconic and multi-million selling Sega Genesis Jurassic Park games in our Jurassic Park: Classic Games Collection!

We've got a JURASSIC piece of news to share with you!
The Jurassic Park Classic Games Collection gets tougher, faster and more dangerous than ever with the inclusion of MORE classic titles from the 16-bit era!

Hey, our logo made it into Netflix's High Score documentary series for about two seconds.
ICYMI, Axiom Verge Wii U is already in-hand, so it will start shipping out immediately after the sale on the 29th!
Look what came in! These are just the cartridges right now - the rest of the packaging needs to be printed and the games need to be assembled in cases. Getting closer to shipping out Night Trap and Slime-San!
(Golf Story has not been sold yet)
Completed my US Sega CD full set!
Working on rearranging the game room to fit everything properly.
I don't want to jinx anything, but some of the projects we are looking into right now are insane -- it's a lot of Scott Pilgrim level stuff. I hope it all pans out. 🤞
A lot of games hit our warehouse today and will start shipping soon.
The first production sample of our Streets of Rage 4 Statue from our Limited Edition has arrived!
We're about to sign the lease agreement for the Limited Run Games retail store and I'm forming an inspiration board for the store interior.
You all have no idea how hard it was to keep in the Scott Pilgrim news. It's been an absolute rollercoaster to get here that was riddled with anxiety, but here we are!
I always wanted a PocketStation, so I finally bought one. They're surprisingly inexpensive!
My game collection room at the office is mostly set up! I'll share more pictures over the next few days.
Today is your last chance to get Scott Pilgrim in physical form at limitedrungames.com. It's also the last day to get 's vinyl OST and other Scott Pilgrim merchandise.

I distinctly remember being excited to try watching Slayers, only to accidentally buy "The Motion Picture" and have absolutely no idea what was happening in it.
I had to clean out the corner of our warehouse that was filled with random stuff from our previous four offices. Needless to say, I found some gems there.
I finally got a hold of a complete in box BattleSport, so my US and PAL Sega Saturn collection is officially complete!
After years of hard work and persistence, I finally managed to sign some huge games that absolutely wouldn't have seen a physical release otherwise. I fully expect some people to be upset that they have to buy them from us, but these truly wouldn't exist any other way.
To say "holding this is surreal" would be an understatement. I will perpetually be in disbelief that is a part of the lineup. I am so honored to have been able to release this.
(It started shipping out today! CE's start shipping late May)
The retail store crane machine is filled to the brim with exclusive Shantae transformation plushies!
We opened the store briefly for our employees to shop today. Outside of one of our A/C units breaking, it went well! I am excited for the full grand opening in six days!
In 10 hours, orders for the physical release of Castlevania Anniversary Collection will be open at limitedrungames.com.
The retail store will be open for business in Cary, NC in April 2022! We look forward to seeing everyone in-store some time.
(Shelves are empty right now because we still have another four months before we open, but we'll be fully stocked for the grand opening)

There's a guy in a Mandalorian jacket at Target refusing to wear a mask and I can appreciate the deep irony there
Happy 22nd birthday to my favorite console of all time - the Sega Dreamcast! I love it so much that I own all 600+ unique games that released in the console in the US, Europe, and Japan!
I need to find a better way to shelve my Japanese games (and some time to alphabetize them).
I'm kind of surprised that we announced Castlevania and people are asking me what the big game was.
Yesterday we started the initial steps towards opening a permanent Limited Run Games retail store near our office in the Raleigh, NC area. We hope to be able to open for business by Spring 2021.
Holy shit - we just got confirmation on some of the biggest games we've ever had the opportunity to release. No one will see these coming!
Switch standard editions of Streets of Rage 4 are in and start shipping TODAY - PS4 standards will arrive from Sony next week.
I picked up an original PlayStation retail Everbrite sign at the flea market today.
After a year of struggle and *a lot* of lost money, our only Wii U release will arrive at our office this month. We won't make anything on it (or even come close to breaking even), but at least it'll actually see the light of day.
