When we had our initial opportunity to pitch Konami on working with us at GDC 2019, we made a prototype Castlevania CE, modeling the box off the save point in SotN. The final box had gold leafing and the embossed cross. It also had a thing you could insert into the top that had the "Data saved." message box printed on it. I was proud of what we managed to put together for the pitch. We also produced a Vampire Killer pin to include inside.pic.twitter.com/iSzitY6EaR
.@LimitedRunDoug traveled on the plane from NC to CA with this little coffin box outside of his luggage and he kept getting weird looks because it appeared he was traveling with a tiny doll coffin.
I was worried someone would see us with the box and connect the dots to figure out we were pitching Konami. Thankfully that didn't happen.
Douglas has had the Vampire Killer pin on his office wall for a year and half now and no one has noticed in any pictures he's posted. 
Oh, and Douglas accidentally wore a Kojima Productions shirt to our Konami meeting and we both thought that was going to cost us the partnership, haha.
