Great to see blizzard moving in this direction, but stuff like this should definitely come with a warning shot, not a public execution.https://twitter.com/Wowhead/status/1346732439658524672 …

I don't see the issue, they're saying they will ban accounts made to purposely advertise. Not main accounts
Many people who do this kind of advertising also store gold on those accounts. I would wager that this person just lost a lot.
was having a discussion with a few friends about this, and this is 100% a TIN FOIL HAT theory but.... What if something isn't being said/brought to light on either the OP or Blizzard's side? We only know the OP's side of the story and narrative on what they've shared
Some kind of "heads up" would of been nice, but it seems like the OP is being made an example out of instead
This has been happening for over 2 years. Gallywix Advertisers - particularly German ones - would appeal silences and then get promptly banned for exactly these reasons with a "new policy" being cited. Doesn't reflect a policy change imo, just "bad GM RNG".
From what I understood, this type of account was basically based on the fact that it would get the profit before it got silenced or banned, then they would just create a new account and do the same so.. Don't seem unfair, it is not like he used it to play the game.
Ya the guy who got banned didn’t see the newly policy slip into the ToS. Blizzard didn’t announce the change till now? Lol... poor dude
