Where is the line between viable and unviable drawn? Please inform me.
Depends on the context, right? A resto druid for world first progress hasn't been viable for at least a couple tiers now. On that same note though: For CE guilds literally every spec is viable and has been for years.

Nah it's not about what's best, viable for wow specs is more of a question of if you can get by using it. It's like asking if it's feasible.

I agree with Preheat on this one. Fx: everything is viable for a CE or a +15, not so much for the world first or a +31. As a more specific example: frost dks in legion were really not viable for high tyrannical Halls of Valor, despite being strong dps in general

So where is the line? What about a 19, or 20? What specs fall in and out of the viable category based on keylevel?

I think people copy because they assume it would be the easiest way of getting CE. Even though other specs are "viable", most assume it would still make it more difficult than playing what the WF players do.
