If they replace it with the long-press fake 3D Touch they built for the XR it’s going to be *incredibly annoying* because on my wife’s XR it does not work very well at all.
I really hope the rumors are wrong and 3D Touch isn't going away. Apple hasn't done enough with 3D Touch but what they have done is irreplaceable. For example, you can peek at Today widgets from Springboard with it! I miss being able to do that on my iPad.

I mean, they can’t do that because that’s just long press + haptic feedback. If they could they’d already be using it on iPad.

I use 3D Touch all the time. Especially for previewing web links and in control center :( I'd miss it. Long pressing on control center items on my iPod Touch isn't quite the same.
