Conservation Regulator staff are currently onsite assisting with the assessment and care of these koalas. This is a very distressing incident, and the Conservation Regulator is taking this matter very seriously.

I’d like to thank everyone who cut down on their power usage and air con. Every little bit counts on these extremely tight days, and it means so much to see Victorians taking small but important steps to put others first. (3/3)

This is why it’s so important we keep delivering new sources of renewable energy - helping over 700,000 houses put a power station on their roof, supporting investments in wind and solar and working at a national level to deliver a grid that can cope with today’s climate. (2/3)

Yesterday showed how tight Victoria’s energy supply can be when temperatures are extremely high. (1/3)

You may know we have people working across the fireground looking for animals in need – what you might not know is there are people in the sky too. Find out how we’re using satellite imagery & helicopters with special equipment to search wildlife

Tonight Gippsland’s Macropods are eating… Macropod pellets, carrots and sweet potatoes. Wallabies and roos might not have the dexterity to operate
#UberEats but hopefully our supplementary food drops will hit the spot for the macropods ain fire impacted areas. Watch for more

Extraordinary storms have brought down transmission towers in Western Victoria, affecting supply to customers in that area, including the Portland smelter. Very high temperatures and humidity continue into this evening, with demand at its highest since 2014. (1/3)

Power supply still very tight in Victoria. Here is the latest from
@AEMO_Media. You can reduce your energy consumption by setting your air con to 23-26 degrees and avoid running appliances such as dishwashers and washing machines if possible until 9pm.https://twitter.com/aemo_media/status/1223109211950731264 …

@AEMO_Media is asking people to reduce their power use where they can between 1pm-8pm today, particularly limiting AC to 23-26 degrees. AEMO are responsible for managing the national energy grid. We will be continuing to receive updates as the day progresses. (2/2)Prikaži ovu nitHvala. Twitter će to iskoristiti za poboljšanje vaše vremenske crte. PoništiPoništi -
Today Victoria’s power supply will be very tight due to hot weather. There are many variables that can affect power supply including bushfires, stress on transmission lines and ageing coal plants that can fail with no notice, like we saw last night. (1/2)
