This is pill shaming, and to be clear, it is totally unacceptable.

I had a Nokia 3210 & was quite geeky so I worked out the codes needed for different songs but Destiny's Child - Independent Women, I too thought I was the shit 🙂

The Murder She Wrote theme, and it was an excellent investment. 👌🏼

Do you remember polyphonic ring tones? And if so what beepity tinkly tune did you pay probably over £4 to have as your ring tone? I had Call Me by Blondie, and yes, I thought I was the shit.

Apart from the obvious headline story in tonight's it was great to see in the spotlight, and not just the typical ticks and obsessive hand-washing portrayal that Hollywood loves.

Yup. Hearing it from my patients now - didn't before. Once attended a talk on history of OCD sxs and they seem to evolve with the topics of that point in history.

I do this too, worry obsessively about my social faux pas and how I might’ve offended people 😕

Winter always triggers and intensifies contamination fears for me as so many people get colds/flu and there's always media reports on Norovirus outbreaks.

Thanks for joining everyone! Wishing you well for the week ahead. Sharing this OCD as it made me mega chuckle.

I was convinced I’d get SARS and die back when it was all over the news but thankfully my OCD has been less severe this time *so far

I think the problem when we share our worries we are often seeking reassurance. And reassurance seeking is the enemy of recovery. It just feeds the monster.

Yes. Since I am sick, I have been consciously trying to mute out intrusive thoughts about the virus. I kind of spiraled a bit yesterday night after looking up the symptoms (mistake), which caused a full blown panic attack.

It's interesting how people's obsessions are often triggered by current affairs/culture. relating to religiosity (eg. compulsive praying) is much more common in very religious countries, & contamination OCD relating to HIV soared in the 1980s, especially after *that* advert.

Anonymous asks: "Has anyone else found that contamination has been triggered and thus intensified by the media coverage of Coronavirus?"

I used to worry ridiculously about things like that and I once you're in the grip its murder to get out. I find if you just take 7 non-judgemtal breaths (it's a manageable target) that helps. And then try to take half your attention to watching yourself doing what you are doing

Something to note - the more you focus your attention on a physical part of your body, the more you are likely to experience sensations/twinges there. What's other people's experience of this?
