A look back at highlights from decades of Lilith reporting on abortion: much of it as urgent and relevant as if it were published today.

That's why it's critical for Jewish people to be loud and proud in their support for abortion access— and not just for the "right" reasons but because it is a fundamental right. Because in the US, the personal is political in a racist, classist, misogynistic, Christian society.

In Judaism, life begins at birth, so we're focused on the health and dignity of the person carrying the fetus. Therefore, any laws that stop people with uteruses from accessing abortions and other healthcare are in violation of Jewish law.
