To my knowledge a camp fire started around 6am this morning and by 9am my town was given a mandatory excavation and by 10 I was in traffic surrounded by flames. Now about 14 hours later the town I grew up in is no more. And the fire shows no sign in stopping.

My family has been lucky so far and I hope everyone has had the same luck. And for those who have lost friends or family, I don’t know what else I can say but I’m sorry. As well to my knowledge the fire is 0% contained and my home town of paradise has lost 92% of all structures

For those who are in Chico and the surrounding area still not evacuated I’d get out now. Even if you’re house isn’t in danger it’s better to be safe rather then be stuck in traffic when the sky is turned black and all you can see are brake lights and flames hearing explosions
