My generation, for a few years, got to experience unfettered freedom of speech on the internet.
Big Tech took that away, so I started investigating Big Tech.
Find links to some of my biggest scoops here:
Rep. Buddy Carter states that one of the main priorities of the 118th Congress will be to investigate whether members of Congress influenced Verizon and AT&T in suppressing conservative voices, including OAN. #OAN
Hearing that the bill has in fact been amended to remove the “safety” language, which would be excellent news and a big win for Republicans. Working to confirm.
Unless amended, the “digital safety” language will ensure the bill’s top lobbyists (Microsoft, Spotify) benefit, but won’t do much to help Rumble, Parler, Musk’s Twitter, etc. “Digital Safety” should be clearly defined to exempt political speech.
The problem with the Open App Markets Act is it has loopholes to allow Google and Apple to deplatform for “Digital Safety” and “Security”--the words its author Richard Blumenthal used to demand the FTC investigate Twitter after Musk’s takeover.
It appears the Open App Markets Act, one of tech antitrust bills having to do with the App and Android stores, is being hotlined in the Senate today? I dunno, man. It will almost certainly be held and not pass but stay tuned!
Congressional leaders stripped from the annual defense package a controversial proposal that would have allowed media organizations to create cartels. https://trib.al/9h8dNcw
That last line isn’t an overstatement.
In 2021, per Gallup, the number of GOP voters who said they trusted the media was 11%.
In the same year, Gallup also found the number of GOP voters who support abortion in any circumstances was 15%… four points higher!
Some GOP senators (Cotton, Blackburn, Lee, among others) did see the JCPA for what it was from the beginning.
Others are quickly waking up to the fact that the media is less popular with their voters than planned parenthood.
Why are some Republicans working with Dems to destroy alternative media? This law gives Big Tech & the Corporate Media MORE censorship power. Strip it out of the NDAA!
Group of 10 GOP Patriots Push Back on McConnell, Democrat Push to Include JCPA in NDAA
Still incredible that even a single GOP member backed a corporate welfare bill for the same industry that smears them and their voters every day.
It’s not like the media needs the money. They already get billions from Big Tech — as well as the censorship of their competitors.
Full (4408 pages!) text of the #NDAA just dropped… WITHOUT the #JCPA in it.
Media lobbyists will no doubt look for another vehicle to secure their gravy train from Big Tech, but time is running out.
The JCPA Media Cartel Bailout Bill is one of the most important issues, second only to free speech. It's a shame that other independent media outlets like
SOURCES: McConnell Caves to Pelosi, Schumer, Allows JCPA Media Cartel Bailout Bill to Be Included in Defense Package -- Would force Big Tech companies to subsidize Big Media companies. @ElonMusk would have to fork over cash to the @NYTIMEs, etc. https://breitbart.com/tech/2022/12/05/sources-mcconnell-caves-to-pelosi-schumer-allows-jcpa-media-cartel-bailout-bill-to-be-included-in-defense-package/…
A federal court has said it’s perfectly fine for tech giants to discriminate against U.S. citizens, allowing corps to hire foreign workers for drastically less pay.
Seems unfair.
Do Justice Democrat / workers’ rights types even have a stance on this?

🚨ICYMI: 2 NEW LAWSUITS FILED —
AFL will keep working to uncover the full extent of the government’s collusion with Big Media and Big Tech to censor content and shape public opinion.
These guys have my full endorsement.
If you’re a talented engineer who doesn’t want to sell your soul to Google/FB/Apple/Amazon, this is the place for you.
This is the current head of Twitter Safety and Integrity citing Renee DiResta
It turns out DiResta's name is associated one of the most explosive and aggressively covered-up influence operations of the century
It gets even darker...
