Big supporter of states rights. But states don't have the right to refuse to follow federal immigration law. The last time states refused to follow a federal law it ended badly - in the Civil War.

Actually last time it happened was when we sent federal troops into the south to enforce school integration. Seems like every time it happens it is the Democrats that have to be reminded that they are not above the law.

Lord, there was this thing called the party switch that happened. Back in the 60s-70s. I even heard about it in my middle school teachings. In Texas. In an ultra conservative catholic school so I know It was legit.

Do your homework. There was non”switch” lol. Look at southern state legislature make up through 2000. After racist Dems filibustered civil rights act only 1 senator switched parties. Many racist Dems even boycotted DNC national convention. Those racist remained for many years
