The govement do not pay for this the public do. Giving more public money to business that will keep getting into trouble is a waste of public money. I don't want to see anyone lose their job but people can't afford to prop up business.
The Government must do more to support our high streets:
overhaul the business rates system that threatened high streets even before coronavirus

Land value taxation.

Isn't the land value of a high street retail site higher than that of an out of town warehouse? I support LVT but can't see how it helps bricks and mortar retail.

We need a policy to make delivery marginally less competitive - minimum worker rates enforced - delivery co get big fines for driving violations etc.
