In my opinion the wages paid should be fairer. Paying someone 30k a year in a crisis when some people scratch by on 16-17k isn't fair on the taxpayer. Maybe instead of reducing to 60% they should lower the upper limit to 2k a month.
The government are now considering "winding down" the furlough scheme. This is far too soon, and puts millions of furloughed workers are risk of redundancy.
