Absolutely. Society is meant to be reciprocal. These brave people volunteer, put themselves in harm's way, we have an obligation as a society to make that risk as minimal as possible.

The government's efforts to encourage volunteers, medical students & retired NHS doctors and nurses to join the health service are welcome. As well as retired "NHS Doctors and nurses" there are other retired staff who have been re registered by the HCPC and are waiting to fill in a questionnaire to see if they are needed to help. I am a biomedical scientist in this position for instance.
