Is it maybe because Irish political correspondents don’t e.g. just read out texts from government spin doctors live on the evening news as the day’s main story.

Lonely homeless man who 'just wanted a hug' has sleeping bag set on fire "he told me that they'd set his sleeping bag on fire - he lifted up his legs to show me the sleeping bag all burnt and in tatters - he said it had burnt his legs as well."

And so Number 10 tries to ban certain journos from select outlets from government briefings. Nearly the whole lobby walk out, including the BBC's chief political correspondent. And yet ... the BBC see fit not to publish the story.

Besides ’s clever comment, the interviewer here should be commended for asking over and over until he got an answer which was “I’m not relying on evidence”... all journalists should learn from this. Don’t let politicians avoid answering.

the way the Observer has tried to spin this is genuinely funny. I'd advise Starmer supporters not to get used to such friendly coverage; once he'd served his purpose to the press (dislodging the left) they'd drop him like a piping hot spud

Here is a former MP that voted for every single punishing cut to the criminal justice system now apparently regretting the consequences of those cuts. Too little, too late. The damage is being felt by every community and every victim of a justice system in utter crisis.

So sickening that Boris Johnson can get away with such little scrutiny in this speech. So much bluster and lame jokes and all you can hear is the audience/ journalists laughing.

I get the distinct impression that BBC News has suddenly realised it's in a locked room, bent over with its trousers down and entirely at the mercy of the appalling mechanical reaming machine it has been telling everyone is actually a basket of puppies... Oopsie.

Not great optics here, folks: - Dems paid company literally called Shadow to create caucus app - Buttigieg campaign also paid Shadow, FEC records show - Caucus app fails - Buttigieg declares himself Iowa winner with no results

. This is what happens when the media does not represent the society it reports on. Representation matters. Diversity matters. This cannot continue.

Pete Buttigieg managed to spike the most important poll which showed him in third the day before the caucus. He seems to have some ties to the company that developed the App that is supposed to count the vote totals. He is now declaring victory before ANY results are reported.
