U.S. officials and lawmakers talk openly about checking the authoritarian impulses of the Chinese Communist Party. But the president rarely, if ever, mentions human rights and democracy, and he has not made strong statements on HK. via @ewonghttps://nyti.ms/2C4Cv2p

There comes a time when words become empty and only effective action brings respect. That action will be war, and both sides are delaying that to achieve optimum advantage

Martial law isn’t enacted. But #HKPolice turns #HK into emergency state. #HKers hv no basic human rights. A man was arrested only for walking a dog. He shouted for making a call. Bystanders asked for his identity. #HKPolice hindered his voice “his name is cockroach” #StandwithHKpic.twitter.com/z181Abi7gj

Don't just see us HKers feebly asking for help. It is also in the interest of the US to save a bygone bridgehead that the US had unwittingly forsake. A matter for the US to savor the last bit of sinew left by the robbing communists.
