Tom Friedman and Steve Bannon agree on China. What else does the Chinese leadership need to know about the American sentiment towards China?https://twitter.com/SquawkCNBC/status/1128634192026324993 …

Also, the Chinese Communist Party’s Soviet genes and its state & crony capitalist practices determine that it is definitely gonna clash with the Western democratic systems one day, sooner or later.

Looks to me like Tom's prediction in 2000 (Lexus and Olive Tree) that China would experience a severe crisis in the next 20 years may not happen, time is running out, he does not like this, so he's jumped on a more "activist" point of view ;-)

I don’t think there’s sth called “China’s rise”. It’s a just a opening and reform path that was initiated by Deng and his followers and thus transformed Mao’s hermit kingdom. That’s the normalization of our nation.

That cable news in the US is happy to put irrelevant people who are not actual experts on TV for the public?

Well, being harsh on China is political correct right now, so of course everyone will conform to that line, regardless of their real opinion.

It's politically, morally and economically correct. It should have been the mainstream view ever since the Tiananmen massacre. Instead, free traders and corporations sucked up to Beijing at the expense of human rights and fair trade.
