NYT reporters generally take Amtrak over flying. Penn Station is a short walk from office. It usually works out ok. There is WiFi so can get a ton of work done. Seats very comfortable.

I once Uber’d from downtown DC to downtown Manhattan, and it cost the same as two train tickets. Thought I was clever, until I got reminded by the bumpy ride that the infrastructure in the U.S. is antiquated compared to China. And I couldn’t possibly do any work on laptop.
