I recently waited 5 mins for sb to pay a taxi driver with mobile payment as sth wrong with his phone. I told him he should’ve used cash like me... and btw I’m 55+
Got in a cab at the Beijing airport and asked the driver if I could use mobile payment because I forgot to bring any RMB with me. “Of course,” he said. “Only the 55+ group still use cash.” For all the talks about privacy and surveillance, it’s hard to beat convenience
