yeah you gotta stretch that stomach out the day before
I don't know about stretching out your stomach the day before, but I was just ear normally the day before and have a light breakfast (and maybe lunch depending when dinner is being served) the day of. No reason to do anything crazy out the norm. And to-go plates do exist.
I assume the making them overeat is the point? Somehow? It's... Ugh.
It actually is a really old American Christian tradition to fast for Thanksgiving. It fell out of practice but it's really not that far out of bounds.
No offense, but that must have been a
American Christian tradition because I've never heard of that in my life.
And how long do the children fast for? If it's a full 24 hours can that really be healthy for young children?
If they aren't allowed to eat the whole day prior and most people don't typically eat breakfast/lunch day of, those children will have not eaten well over 24 hours. And that is in no way good for children. Especially if there are going to have such a big meal.
Modern day puritans aka evangelicals
It makes sense? Im not american but if thanksgiving is about being thankful and grateful, then not eating the day before will only increase your level of gratefulness when you have thanksgiving dinner?
Thanksgiving is truly not that deep. And the being thankful part of the holiday is more about being able to gather with your loved ones (blood or no). It's like a state sanctioned family/friend reunion. Starving not required.
