As a sound designer, I often feel like all sounds I use should be my own. I feel like using other people's sounds is almost less authentic

I kinda agree. Libraries are useful to make new stuff from, but not lifting straight out of. (Assuming this is what you mean?)

yeah kinda. I feel like I'd love to be able to have created all sounds in a project from scratch - but budget and time stop that!

Yeah, totally ha ha! Plus some stuff is really hard/near impossible to do on your own (Hi gun sounds!).

totally, guns and explosions might be tricky for me to record ;p but in those situations I try to make the library sounds my own !

plus most libraries now allow that to happen. Not alot of people are putting out designed libraries just raw stuff

yeah I really like that. As raw as possible so I can do what I want with it. I'd never use designed stuff usually
