I get the sentiment, but this isn't really one of those cases. The importance of IA to the candidates *is* the news coverage and to the party, that conspiracies don't fill the vacuum. It's not like other slow election counts, like CA House races, where you just have to wait.

One of the biggest lies the Dem establishment tells is that the left is unique in election-overturning conspiracy theories - Hillary Clinton spent the last half of 2008 arguing Obama's primary win was illegitimate!

The Iowa caucus debacle just proves we need to keep the national system that allows my party to win despite losing.

This is true. Is there any other wealthy democracy with voting systems as checkered as the United States?

A completely sincere thought: Thousands of totally well-meaning people spent a year of their lives working for candidates and their reward was being part of a historic debacle, because the state party fumbled an app. It’s infuriating.

Hannity is still peddling Judicial Watch’s widely debunked claims about Iowa voter registration. To RWM it doesn’t matter that the claim has been repeatedly fact checked, it matters that the Dems look like they don’t have a handle on the election.

many of the 76 men who wrote the south carolina constitution of 1868 had just been emancipated from slavery a few years earlier. some were barely literate. the constitution they wrote guaranteed public education, abolished race discrimination, and gave rights to women.

Bernie Sanders couldve trafficked in conspiracy theories in his Caucus Night speech. He couldve said how suspicious it was for the vote tallies to not be posted. He could've said the spiking of the Iowa Poll was unfair to him. But he didn't. And that's to his credit.

It's too bad that the bigwigs at the Washington Post have declared it taboo to talk about the racism that is pervasive in these front groups. It's a big story.

Should go without saying: reporters of color shouldn't have their jobs threatened for speaking out about mainstream media failures to properly cover and contextualize issues of race. What's the point of bringing diverse experiences and voices into a room only to muzzle them?

    3. The Wesley Lowery thing, by the way, looks really bad for the Washington Post. There is very good social science documenting the role a racist backlash played in the Tea Party. To treat this as a matter of opinion rather than reporting is a dereliction of responsibility.
