My heart is bursting. On the eve of my first child's birth, my dad - who's been in prison nearly my entire life - was granted clemency. He never intended harm, yet his crime devastated many families. My heart breaks for the families that can never get their loved ones back.

You really shouldn’t be publicly gloating about this. His act of robbery and hijacking as you claim “not meaning any harm” left a guard and two police officers dead. It’s sickening to hear you reduce any accountability and instead celebrate. Not that I’m surprised

David Gilbert has served 40 years for his part as a get away driver in a botched robbery. There are far more sentences &/or clemencies granted you should be complaining about. DA Boudin isn't gloating either--he's celebrating, which is different.

gloat verb: gloating contemplate or dwell on one's own success or another's misfortune with smugness or malignant pleasure. To spell it out, the misfortunate ones here are the three victims who were shot and killed during the robbery his newly released Dad decided to commit.

You misread the DA's post--there's ZERO evidence he's taking pleasure in someone's misfortune, & if you knew the DA at all, you would know he's no fan of Schadenfreude. It's all you Recall fans who attempt to twist his genuine concern, & efforts at needed change.

I know the meaning of the word gloat quite well but thanks for dictionary definition. What I disapprove of is the way some folks hold only some lives sacred.

We can all interpret his words how we wish to interpret them. Please don’t tell me what to think and feel and instead speak for yourself.

I'm not telling you what to think or feel. I'm just curious about why you feel that way because it doesn't make sense to me. I also feel some people use the DA's father & that whole situation against him & it's not fair. He was 14 months old.
