Throughout COVID, app-based workers risked exposure to keep us safe & fed. By illegally misclassifying workers, companies deprive them of basic protections: minimum wage, sick leave & overtime. To protect workers & enforce state law, we filed a civil action against Doordash.https://twitter.com/nytimes/status/1415758092319567877 …

So it only matters that they risked their lives during Covid, this is the basis of your lawsuit? Is Doordash breaking the law or not? Is this a violation of your job duties?

No. DA Boudin promised he would prosecute white collar crimes too, so it's not a violation of his job duties.

That is not what he is saying, he is saying that they should be treated differently because they worked during Covid. The classification of "gig" workers has been classified by the electorate and the legislature will need to codify.

This is what he's saying: "By illegally misclassifying workers, companies deprive them of basic protections: minimum wage, sick leave & overtime." This would be the case with or without COVID.
