The city isn't a dump! It's still beautiful, travel it daily. The TL too--love Urban Alchemy's work there. This desperate narrative is a lie to force us back to the anti-human laws & procedures that made us the mass incarceration poster child of the world.

it’s beautiful because of the topology. remove that and we have rampant drug use, homeless mfs, prop 47, chesa boudin, and sfusd who can’t prioritize kids over names. ask how tourist feel about the city if u want an honest opinion. fyi, i ask all the time.

Also, there's only rampant drug use in the TL--well, that's visible, unless of course you're incl. the most dangerous drug for me--alcohol, which is happily imbibed everywhere & is responsible for deaths too, like my grandmother's, ex-boyfriend's brother, etc. Widen your vision.

Many people are aching for a more just system, not one run my the old school "law & order" prosecutors, who were often working unethically w/cops JUST to convict, to win, not for any real justice. Chesa ran on a reform platform & won w/37% of the 1st choice votes & more w/2nds &

Plus, he had only 2 & 1/2 months in office before the city was sheltering in place, which had a vast effect on all of us though in different ways, largely depending on our income bracket, which also breaks down racially following the typical patterns. Courts were closed in SF too
