Noooo, that’s not right, there needs to be a system to stop postmen from doing shit like this. Like how the hell can he get away with signing that you picked up the package for you?!? That is Forgery & Theft. At the very least needs a pay deduction. Most, actual fair punishment.
apparently at the moment all post people have been told not to let the customer sign for things to keep them safe & social distance in the pandemic! i didn't have a safe space set up for my mail so it's likely they deemed that the only place that was "safe" enough

Well to avoid future stuff like that. As long as you create a “safe space” which I can understand now that you say that. You should hopefully not run into the issue, or rightfully complain if you still do. Please take care and I hope things get better!
