Random train fact, The Bullet trains are one of the few trains in Japan that use the standard track gauge of 1,435 mm (4 ft 8 1⁄2 in) most of their trains use the less common 1,067 mm (3 ft 6 in). They were also the worlds first high speed trains.

you probably know this already but i was reading about how they upgraded the trains, they ran at 210kmph in 1964, that's crazy! i went on the tokaido one so it really was the literal first & also fastest now! - Show replies
