It’s here and it’s gorgeous! and Bernie Wrightson would be so proud of this Absolute Swamp Thing. I contributed an intro, some photographs, and art from our collection. I guess if you are going to New York Comic-con, you can see it. #SwampThing

This one was always my favorite.
I wanted to get these books back into print but couldn't make it happen. It's now available as an audiobook, anyway, as is Marv & Len's Spider-Man: Mayhem in Manhatten novel, too.

Saddle Up and Read and Horse Girl Gooch are looking for a van to carry her mini-horse Man Man to programs she gives. She’s got a grant, but could use a lead (she’s in North Carolina) and probably could use more tax-deductible contributions toward it (501c3.)

Steadily looking for a transit van for Man Man. @saddleupandread has been awarded a $5k grant from Puffin to go towards the van.
A new or very low mileage van would be ideal to convert into his transportation.

I suppose the late creator of Swamp Thing & Wolverine.
TBH, was honored to call him friend. I'd give up 99% of my other followers to have him back.

Three years ago today, died after a life-long struggle with many diseases. There’s not a day that goes by that I don’t miss him, but I am grateful he did not have to deal with Covid-19. I hope he was right that 45 will get what’s coming to him & good guys will prevail.

I know I'm really behind, but I finally binged #SwampThing series yesterday. I hope it finds a huge audience on this fall and gets picked up for more episodes. It is SO good and SO unique compared to typical "superhero" fare. Just like the original book.

It was 50 years ago today Marvel published SPOOF #1, a test-drive for a regular parody magazine. Set up for ribbing were "Dark Shadows," MAROONED, and "The Mod Squad," in one of 's 1st Marvel sales. We didn't see a second issue until 1972, and there were only five in all.

I know that loved finding and supporting new talent. It did not surprise me to see he was the editor.

I’m thinking about the story told me about being tasked by Harlan Ellison to go pick up Susan Toth when she first arrived in L.A. by the time Len got her to Ellison Wonderland, he knew Susan was, as he told Harlan “a keeper.” “Don’t screw it up,” he told Harlan.

6/4/74: With INCREDIBLE HULK #179 begins a writing stint on the book that lasts a remarkable 42 issues, filled with as much poignancy as action. One of three Wein titles you could buy this week, but the others were DC; he's getting ready to become Marvel Editor in Chief.

5/8/73: The final Wein-Aparo issue of PHANTOM STRANGER #26 reaches stands as backup THE SPAWN OF FRANKENSTEIN makes buddies and collaborate on script. The next issue would see a wildly unpopular creative change on both features. WILDLY unpopular.

6/7/73: SWAMP THING #6 produced one of three Shazam!-nominated stories as the year's best in "A Clockwork Horror" (it lost to Conan) with Berni(e) Wrightson winning Artist of the Year - nominated for writer - but Berni would later confess he was starting to feel burnout.

#GhostRider makes his return in Innocent Blood, written by . #Hulk was not shy with guest stars and most of them were simply excellent.
It must be said the Banner/Betty Ross romance is incredibly well done too.
I get more impressed with this show the more I watch it!

Swamp Thing, the original run. Gothic horror at its best - scary stories with a hugely emotional core, and the most terrifyingly beautiful art I’d ever seen. Unparalleled...

Happy 45th birthday, GIANT-SIZE X-MEN #1. The title would go on to change both the industry and pop culture, and continues to have important relevance to today's X-books. Well done, and Dave Cockrum.
