I still can't quite believe that "who amongst the working class has not harassed a girl to a a suicide attempt or done revenge child porn?" is somewhere Greenwald felt he needed to gohttps://www.lawyersgunsmoneyblog.com/2020/08/glenns-vision-of-the-working-class …

This is a consistent position for him, though. Being held accountable for something you did when you were 13 is something that happens to poorer people pretty consistently and not at all to the wealthy and its a point worth making. He was 11-13.

This is a valid point. However, this is not shoplifting or joyriding. Child revenge porn is vastly more serious. And none of Glenn’s defenders give a shit about the young women he victimized. They only care about owning evil establishment libz.

I don't think its up to Greenwald or his defenders to make up your mind for you about what's right, wrong and useful social positions to take. I don't know anyone in the abolition or anti-police violence work who would agree with you instead of him.

Again, no one here is saying throw him in jail and lose the key, but you seem to want unilateral forgiveness for this guy’s actions. Sorry, no. He did shitty things to young women and hasn’t made amends.

I don't. I don't see any point in judging him for something he did when he was 14. Bullying, sexual harassment is anational problem at this age, because of the society we've thrown children into. Acting as if its they who are culpable, and not us, is the actual problem

What are you even trying to say here, dude? That there is some age between 14 and 20 (actually 19) when your slate gets wiped clean regardless of whether you show any remorse or contrition? Is this just for sexual crimes? What if you’d killed someone?

I encourage you to investigate the writing, thought and law around this, as well as the concept of restorative justice. As you are saying, you literally seem to have no idea about any of this but I'm not the person to educate you

Since 1)nobody's claiming that he belongs in jail and 2)he has done absolutely nothing to make amends to his victims talking about "restorative justice" is just an evasive non-sequitur

This is 100% of a piece with evangelicals talking about Trump being forgiven for his sins while handwaving away the part where you need to repent and ask for forgiveness.
