    This is a very comfortable lifestyle. They own a home and a car, they’ve got every kind of insurance, they’re saving for retirement and college, they take 3 weeks of vacation a year, and supporting 2 kids.

    And he’s being indicted because he came forward as a private individual (even though he also represented the Clinton campaign), as opposed to presenting himself as a member of the Clinton campaign. Who cares? The Clinton campaign weren’t shy about giving tips to the FBI.

    This is so wrong as to be embarrassing. Judge Pitman hasn't *ruled* on the preliminary injunction (the hearing is October 1); all he did today was deny the government's request to expedite his consideration of a TRO. Here's a full summary, with receipts:

    A federal judge just denied the motion for a preliminary injunction on the DOJ challenge to the Texas abortion law. The DOJ may have created unnecessary federalism and other issues with the filing.

    I would be very interested in meeting a person who liked “Wonder Woman 1984,” “Bohemian Rhapsody,” “Green Book,” “Hillbilly Elegy,” “Dear Evan Hanson,” and “The Joker” in equal measure. It would make a “Three Christs of Ypsilanti”-level abnormal psych case study.

    Everyone talks about toxic fandom but what about toxic criticism? Apparently anyone who likes Wonder Woman 1984, Bohemian Rhapsody, Green Book, Hillbilly Elegy, Dear Evan Hansen, or Joker clearly couldn’t appreciate or enjoy those films because the powers of film Twitter said so.

    For the record prescription drug price negotiation is the most popular of the 194 policies we’ve tested so far this year, with variants of the basic idea (IE, generic insulin, patent breaking, etc) making up four of the top five.

    I wonder what David Shor has to say on the polling dynamics of abandoning cheaper prescription drug prices in order to satisfy congressional moderates.

    There it is. California has many miles to go, but this is an important step worth celebrating. A bunch of people I "know" on this here website have been invested participants in this effort, and it is to all of you I raise my glass.

    BREAKING: Bye, single family zoning in California. Governor Gavin Newsom has signed SB9, making duplexes legal on any lot zoned for one house statewide. He also signed SB10 making it easier for cities to approve small apartment buildings in single family neighborhoods.
